Any chance you still have Yggsburgh errata material? I'm starting a campaign there and looking to lessen my burden of rewriting sections... Anything you have and are willing to share would be greatly appreciated!charleyp1https://www.blogger.com/profile/08667841359965938727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7372646503928378490.post-69148762467120695252010-10-07T01:30:56.768+01:002010-10-07T01:30:56.768+01:00Hello there! I do indeed check my comments from time to time, as I have to keep a lookout for spam and the like (which electronic mail notifications help with); fortunately there has not been much of that lately.

Interesting that you should ask this question, actually, as I recently read an answer for AD&D in Dragon #142, p. 71:

How many gold pieces can the
various containers listed in the
AD&D game rules hold?

The following unofficial capacities have
been extrapolated from the DMG encumbrance
list. They will give you something
to work with for the time being:

Backpack: 400 gp
Belt pouch, large: 200 gp
Belt pouch, small: 100 gp
Boat: See the Wilderness Survival Guide,
page 44
Box, large: 200 gp
Box, small: 50 gp
Chest, wooden: 15 gp per gp of encumbrance
(see the DMG, page 225)
Chest, iron: 3 gp per gp of encumbrance
(see the DMG, page 225)
Land vehicles: See the WSG, page 33
Sack, large: 400 gp
Sack, small: 100 gp
Saddlebag, large: 1,000 gp
Saddlebag, small: 250 gp
Ship: 900 gp/hull point (see the DMG,
page 54)

40 lbs of gear in a backpack sounds pretty reasonable to me, not sure about the belt pouches, but I suppose that depends on their size, which I suppose is well accounted for in the chest calculations above!

I know Jeremy Goehring did some calculations for volume and coins back in Footprints #1, which you can download from Dragonsfoot. There is also the article in Dragon #80 "How Many Coins in a Coffer?", which does the same.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05646247954542936623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7372646503928378490.post-17927657066938662482010-10-06T17:46:18.586+01:002010-10-06T17:46:18.586+01:00Hi!

I'll take a chance that you see this nevertheless.

My question is about volume. There is a lot of discussion about the weight of coins for encumbrance purposes, but I'd like to know rules of thumb for how many coins are there in

a handful? a pouch? a chest? a sack?

This is also very useful info.

Have any ideas on how to address this issue?Sakusammakkohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14791085642312046277noreply@blogger.com
